The Big Show

Get ready to lower your productivity and increase your screen time.

The Olympics are coming.

I’m a huge fan of the olympics and will watch pretty much any sport in the games. Of course, watching athletics is nostalgic.

My memories are of a larger-than-life experience, heightened emotions and getting caught up in big dreams. It was all very intense. My olympic dreams brought a narrow focus to my life. I knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish and what needed to be done to make it happen.

While I definitely don’t miss the intensity, I liked the clarity and focus I had for each day. With my competitive days so far behind me, it can be easy to forget about setting goals or even thinking very far ahead.

But the people I work with all have something they want to achieve. It may be a new PR, or running a marathon, or establishing habits for a healthier lifestyle.

I love coaching because your goals bring clarity and focus to my work. I know what we’re aiming for, and what we need to do to get there.

Sincerely,

Nicole

Toe Touches

My challenge for you: after you watch this gif, ACTUALLY try the exercise. Watching is not the same as doing.

  • Cinch your waist as small as possible and imagine pulling your belly button in.

  • Reach up toward your toes (it’s ok if you can’t quite reach to touch them).

  • Start with 2 sets of as many toe touches as possible, once or twice a week.

Need to make it easier?
Rest your legs (in the same up position) against a wall.

The summer is flying by! Time to get serious about training for fall races.

Pro Runner Training vs Rec Runner Training

As a rec runner my training style and habits are very similar to what they were as a pro. There are, however, some key differences.

Race Day Mindset

Nicole Sifuentes

Race day nerves come from our thoughts. We focus on what might go wrong, all the unknowns, and the “what ifs.” We also tend to focus on our weaknesses rather than our strengths.
