Super Shoes: The Reviews are IN!
Here at Sifuentes Coaching, we are big fans of super shoes. We are fully, completely on board and living our best running lives wearing some very fast footwear.
Read: What are “Super Shoes?”
As an Olympic runner and running coach, I was an early adopter of super shoes — I wanted to try the latest and greatest footwear. During my professional running career my sponsor had been Saucony, so that was the brand of super shoe I wanted to try. When their “Endorphin Pro” became available back in 2020 I pre-ordered a pair.

Super Shoes are for EVERY runner
Fast Forward a couple years.
This past spring, I started to really wonder who should be wearing super shoes. At that point all the pro runners had been in super shoes for years, and many recreational runners had been early adopters too, mainly purchasing nike’s Vaporfly which was the first model available to the public.
So I got on the phone with Geoff Burns, PhD. in biomechanics and one of the world’s top experts on super shoes. I asked him what my advice to you- my readers and my clients- should be regarding Super Shoes.
When the call ended I sat down and e-mailed each of my clients personally, recommending they immediately invest in a pair of super shoes. (Click here to hear directly from Geoff on why all runners can benefit from super shoes.)
That was in March.
Over the last few months I’ve been collecting bits of feedback from the runners I coach as they’ve purchased and started to wear their super shoes. If you’re not convinced yet - please keep reading!
Feedback from Sifuentes Coaching Runners:
“Wore [nike] Vaporflys. The quicker miles felt better than expected.”
“The Saucony Endorphin Speed is definitely a faster shoe. Makes it hard to compare paces on different runs, without seeing which shoes are worn. I would say all my other pairs perform the same; but these are clearly different.”
“I LOVE SUPER SHOES!!!” (Asics Metaspeed)
“Wore the "Speeds" for variety ... hence the much quicker easy run.” (Saucony Endorphin Speed)
“Ran this with the new Vaporflys and they felt very good and very different. I was running at a 4/5 effort and was dipping into the 8:30-40/mile pace easily. After the run I felt great but it definitely was different.”
“Used the [Saucony] endorphin speed shoes today for first time. Shoes felt good, very light. Intervals felt good.”
“Wore [nike] Vaporflys. They felt great and made the run feel much easier I think considering legs were tired.”
“I really like these!” (Nike Vaporfly)
“Ran this in the Vaporflys and this felt great. These shoes feel like cheating! Pace was in the 8-9 minute range at a low effort.”
“Switched into my Endorphin Pro's at halfway because I was struggling. They make a huge difference, felt way better in them. We hammered the last couple miles, felt good.”
“Yesterday's workout went very well with the supershoes. Running with my old Brooks Beast shoes [feel heavy in comparison].” (NB Fuelcell RC Elite)
“Super Shoes Day 2! I wore my Asics Metaspeed for this workout and WOW! What a monster difference! I am pretty positive that is why I was able to run the times I was able to run, not feel as beat up as before, and just overall feel stronger while running the hard portions.”
“Loved the Vaporflys and will continue to use them for speed/long run days.”
“Wore regular shoes and never want to do that again for a workout.”
“I did my best not to go [too fast] in the middle 10 miles...so I blame the supershoes! The supershoes passed the biggest test...and I am starting to like them now...and maybe they are giving me that lift?” (NB Fuelcell RC Elite)
“The Super Shoes make the Long Runs much more tolerable”. (Saucony Endorphin Speed)
“I just need to really stick with [my pace] as I have a hard time slowing down with the supershoes” (NB Fuelcell RC Elite)
“The shoes are a game changer.” (Nike Vaporfly)
“My old shoes feel like trash compared to my super shoes.” (Saucony Endorphin Pro)
